Pathetic Ways to Con People Online

Have you ever gotten “Winning Notification” or “Inheritance” emails from someone you don’t know online? Pathetic isn’t it? Well this last one really got my ire. Using the name of “God” just to get attention for people to read your email? How low can you get?

Apparently some people could care less for the value of God’s name. I don’t want to point to any particular country where this email came from but surely everyone will agree, this is a pretty low way of making mischief online. But as they say, karma is around and hopefully it does not boomerang to you sharply!

Don’t Give Misleading Subjects for Email Recipients

To increase the number of emails opened, many people try to trick their subscribers by providing catchy but misleading headlines. Their motive is to get the subscriber open and read the mail. The rationale behind this is based on the deduction that you would get more responses if more people open the mail.

It is right in theory. But then there is a difference in motivation and interest. If somebody clicks your mail because he is interested in it, you would have higher response rate with more mails being opened. What would be happening if you dupe somebody to open your mail? He would exit the moment he finds that he is cheated or it is not what he was looking for.

Check the Bulk Folder Occassionally

Have you ever had the time when you were expecting an email which never came through? Chances are they may have gotten the wrong email address or maybe it landed in our bulk mail folder.

The bulk mail folder is normally storage for senders that send you emails rapidly and with questionable attachments and content. While there is no real way to determine which is spam and which is not, it would be best to check them since some of your emails may be tied up in that folder.

Next time around, check it out. That email you have been waiting for ages may be there.

Which is the Best Free Mail Program?

We all have our own preference on which free email to sign up with and a lot of it will boil down to ease of use. Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail are leading the pack but as far as user-friendliness is concerned, a lot has to go with where we feel comfortable with at the most.

These mails sites normally try to copy each other. They offer beta versions of new releases which do not always become ideal for people today. Take Yahoo for example which is trying to copy Gmail. It is commendable but the loading time is really something that leaves a lot to be desired.

Hence it would be best to stick to old scripts for now. Do not offer beta versions if they create more inconveniences for your patrons.

Autoresponders may be Mistaken for Spam

Using autoresponder programs to grow your list is one of the most important things you should do to expand your business and your bank account. However, you need the right autoresponder software but you also need to understand what should and shouldn’t be included in your email messages to your visitors.

It is essential to make sure that you have your company name, phone number, company’s physical address and an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each and every email you send out to your subscribers. This is extremely important! If you don’t, your email will be considered spam. And with the implementation of the Anti-Spam Act also known as CAN Spam Act of 2003 you don’t want to mess with that.

Attachment Limits on Emails

As far as sending various files in the form of photos, documents and spreadsheets, size will always matter. Some free mail accounts used to put limits as far as sending is concerned but not anymore. Today, you can send at most 10MB worth of file sizes to anyone but the next problem would be uploading and downloading them.

For sure, this will drive impatient online users crazy. Apparently, some people just want fast ways of sending and receiving stuff online. But logically, if your file is big, expect waiting time to be a bit delayed. We are not yet that advanced where instant sending can be done.

GMail No Longer By Invite

In case you haven’t noticed it yet, Gmail has now opened its doors to everyone. Some time ago, only invited people could get a Gmail account which was not really a good idea.

Unlike Yahoo which is open to anybody, it eases the burden of having to get a free email account even if they are not among the elite people that Google was trying to market. Between the two, Yahoo mails is a hands down winner in getting more subscribers although it may include some people who create free mail for malicious things.

But seeing that their strategy is backfiring, Google has made it free for anyone. So if you have not gotten a Gmail account yet, get yours now at http://www.gmail.com
