Helping Your Email Provider Help You

SpamThe many mail service providers who offer them as a free service often have spam tagging options that allows them to compile and watch out for similar messages in the future allowing them to block similar attempts in the future. These mail service providers keep tabs on these scams and spam to block them in the transmission phase to prevent bot activity of flooding their servers with multiple messages, overwhelming them and clogging the system enough to cause a DoS attack.
The denial of service attack has a bot or malware flooding email servers with mail that chokes it causing the servers to crash. This continues till it is stopped and it is effectively blocked from sending out more of itself. This can also be done by internet worms that get hold of all the email addresses it can get and sends out copies of itself with similar results.
Send Spam messages into the spam bin so they can be dealt with. Most have automatic deletion in a month or so but best do it daily so you keep safe. Keep your email confidential and have separate ones for personal and for social uses.
